Safe, supported, and able to thrive.

NATALIE EPSTEIN SUSD GOVERNING BOARD CANDIDATE 2026–2027

Come meet Natalie — a Saugus parent, small business owner, and mother of four in SUSD schools — running to keep our campuses safe and secure, strengthen communication, and make sure parents are heard.

Natalie Epstein
ABOUT NATALIE

First and foremost, I’m a mom.

I have four children in this district. I’ve been a room parent for multiple classrooms five years in a row, I’m a PTA member, and I’m very active in our schools. I’ve spent years volunteering, working alongside teachers and parents, and being present on our campuses.

So I know our schools not only as a parent, but as someone who is deeply invested in this community. I’m in our classrooms. I’m at our school events. I stand at those gates. And every day, I trust this district with the four people who matter most to me.

I’m a small business owner and a working mother, and I’m excited about new change, new voices, and a renewed commitment to our schools.

JASON GIBBS · SANTA CLARITA COUNCIL MEMBER
EMILY VELCAMP Saugus Union School District parent
“As both a mother and a public servant, I know how much trust we place in those who make decisions affecting our children and our community. That is why I am honored to support Natalie for the SUSD school board. She is an extraordinary combination of heart, intelligence, integrity, and courage — someone who will ask the hard questions, recognize where our district must do better, and remain focused on what best serves all children. Natalie is an incredible person with a deeply genuine commitment to service, and our district would be extraordinarily fortunate to have her leadership.”
CAMILA REYES Saugus Union parent
“Natalie is an incredible member of our community. She is smart, compassionate, and extremely dedicated to everything she does. I deeply admire how committed she is about what she believes in, when she sets her mind to something, she works hard to make it happen. Most importantly, she genuinely cares about our children and always wants what is best for them. She is truly an amazing person, and I feel very lucky to call her a friend. That’s why I want to support Natalie for the SUSD school board. I feel we really need someone who truly listens to the needs of parents and children in our community, someone who, because of her own experiences, understands what’s needed in a child’s environment and education, and who will fight to give them the best and make our voices heard.”
PRIORITIES

My number one priority is clear: safety on every campus.

Proactive, not reactive

TOP PRIORITY

School safety needs to be proactive, not reactive. And safety cannot stop when the school day ends.

How our children feel

Safety is also about how our children feel at school. We need anti-bullying policies that are consistently enforced, and strong access to counselors and support for children who need it.

Transparency & accountability

Parents, teachers, and staff deserve to know they are being heard. I believe in transparency, accountability, and asking the difficult questions when something isn’t working.

A parent’s voice at the table

The perspective of a mother belongs at that table. Parents need a voice in the education of their kids — and I will make sure they are never dismissed.

A movement of Saugus parents.

“I would be honored to represent our families and help ensure every child, on every campus, is safe, supported, and able to thrive.”
